WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?

Anyone who produces technical communication is eligible. You do not have to be an STC member. Enter as an individual or on behalf of a colleague.

WHAT SHOULD I SUBMIT?

Enter print or online publications that meet these criteria:

  • The publication qualifies as technical; for example, it contains technical, scientific, or medical content.
  • The publication was produced or substantially revised within the 24-month period preceding September 1, 2011.
  • The publication was originally prepared for, and it has been accepted for publication by, a client, employer, or publisher.

Enter our local competition in one of the following categories:

  • Informational Materials
  • Instructional Materials
  • Promotional Materials
  • User Support Materials

WHAT AWARDS CAN I WIN?

A panel of 3 judges evaluates your entry, provides feedback, and may grant one of the following awards:

  • Distinguished Technical Communication
  • Excellence
  • Merit

A Best of Show award may be chosen from Distinguished award winners.

HOW DO I ENTER THE COMPETITION?

Complete 4 copies of the entry form available here and submit 4 copies of your entry and entry form to:

Please include a check payable to STC-ETC for your entry fee:
$20 for students
$60 for STC members
$75 for non-STC members.

Note: If you would like us to return your entries, please include return postage with your entry.

HOW DO I ENTER THE SUMMIT COMPETITION?

If your entry wins a Distinguished or Excellence award, you're encouraged to enter the international Summit Awards competition. To enter, you must complete the online International Competition Entry Form and make a direct payment to STC.

Note: The East Tennessee Chapter will submit the Best of Show entry to the Summit Awards competition, and we will provide partial payment of the Summit Awards entry fee to Distinguished award winners.
