Join Tennessee's premier regional Society for Technical Communication (STC) chapter as we continue our mission to articulate the value of content and those who develop it.

Since its inception, the STC has been proving technical communication's relevance and importance in the world.

​

STC is the world's largest and oldest professional association dedicated to the advancement of technical communication. The society's members span the field and reach across every industry and continent. In fact, the society has members in almost 50 countries and is continuing to grow rapidly outside of North America and Europe. 

Through this growing global community, the society and its members set the global standards for technical communication. STC's two award-winning publications, Intercom and Technical Communication, are widely read in the field, and the annual conference is one of the most-attended technical communication events of the year.

East Tennessee Chapter

STC's East Tennessee Chapter (STC-ETC) is the regional chapter for Middle and East Tennessee. Each regional chapter provides its members with a framework for professional development as well as publication and educational opportunities. 

 

Technical communication encompasses many disciplines, from documentation to web publishing. We use it to bring understanding to the users of technical products and ideas. As technical communicators, our "product" is to explain how to use the complicated scientific and technical advances that the twenty-first century brings to the world. 

 

STC-ETC provides a range of activities from conferences to membership meetings with guest speakers to competitions. Our group offers something for every member, whether you want to just attend meetings or become more actively involved.
